Thoughts From The Peacock Angel |
I'm a writer from new york city, I'm in love with glam rock and electric guitars, glitter and sex. I'm a kinky white atheist feminist genderfluid high femme fag-dyke submissive... and a professional dominatrix, and I'm married to the most beautiful human on earth. Cobwebs, broken glass, feathers, sequins, bones, art, sex, pain, life, love. Also apparently I give kickass advice on sex toys... go ahead and ask me.

It’s just that Domino Dollhouse and Ms. Krazie would be SO perfect together. Plz guys set up a business arrangement, this is like my endorsement OTP and I want it to happen so badly.
I run a fashion blog and sometimes fashion is my fandom.
Stevie Nicks - Talk To Me
Yes I’m dancing around my room in a floaty lace shawl to Stevie Nicks and I ain’t sorry.
Lana Del Rey - Blue Jeans
How I feel about D, what with the distance right now.
Rasputina - Signs Of The Zodiac
This is one of the songs I sing (badly) around the house a lot.

I’m %100 without irony here, Barry White is awesome. If you don’t agree that Barry White is awesome you have no soul.
and here’s why, there’s actually a mathematical formula for a catchy tune, you can predict what’s an ear worm and what’s not with formulae and a little knowledge.
Political music isn’t about art, or at least it shouldn’t be, the idea is to propagate a message, and as much as you may love the stompy snarly sounds of Rage Against the Machine, they’re just not an effective tool for propagating that message. I like plenty of hard stuff, don’t get me wrong, raw and harsh are wonderful, can be really musically and artistically interesting, emotionally compelling and wonderful, but if you’re trying to promote an ideology they’re actually a fucking poor choice.
Because seriously, what if there was a song about rape culture that was as catchy, as mentally invasive as “Call Me Maybe”
That would be an effective way to spread the word, and repetition leads to belief, and frankly, as propogandist and ugly as that strategy may seem… pretty much I’m in favor of being a manipulative motherfucker if it leads to fewer people getting raped.
Liberals often feel guilty about using tactics that appeal to emotion, that appeal to psychology, whereas the right has no compunction about using rhetoric, catchy sound bites and blatant propaganda and unfortunately due to the way the human brain works, the truth will not set you free, a catchy pop song surprisingly however just might.
We need to get smoother, smarter, and less naive about our tactics. Political art is advertising, lets start treating it that way, because your anarchist puppetry collective is not helping.
The Ropes - Cry To The Beat
Emotional state due to husband being literally on the other side of the planet.
Basically crying while masturbating with a head full of rollers next to a bottle of piss (subs, man)
